We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Account Management to lead our strategic client relationships and retain and grow customer contribution across all African regions. As a key leadership role within you will be responsible for the success, retention, and growth of our valued customers. You will lead our account management function, collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, and ensure our clients derive maximum value from our full range of solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Strategy:
  1. Define and execute the account management strategy across Africa.
  2. Lead and scale a team of high-performing Account Management Teams
  3. Establish KPIs and ensure achievement of revenue retention and expansion targets.
  4. Align and execute account management in line with both Global & Regional strategy.
  • Client Relationship Management:
  1. Build strong, trusted relationships with senior executives at client organizations.
  2. Act as the executive sponsor for key strategic accounts.
  3. Ensure proactive communication, regular business reviews, and customer satisfaction.
  • Revenue Growth & Retention:
  1. Drive cross-sell and upsell opportunities across the entire product suite.
  2. Collaborate with Sales, Product, and Marketing to identify growth strategies.
  3. Maintain strong renewal performance and minimize churn.
  • Team Development:
  • Coach, train and mentor Account Managers to improve customer engagement, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Foster a customer-first culture that emphasizes value delivery and strategic partnership.
  • Operational Excellence:
  • Implement scalable account management processes and tools.
  • Provide regular reporting on account health, revenue forecasts, and team performance.
  • Partner with Professional Services, Support, and Product teams to ensure seamless post-sales execution.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Proven & referenceable experience (8+ years) in account management or customer success within the ERP, SaaS, or enterprise software industry.
  • Demonstrated success in leading regional or international teams and managing large enterprise accounts.
  • Deep understanding of ERP or SaaS ecosystems and customer needs.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience in managing revenue targets and growth KPIs.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Willingness to travel across Africa (~25–40% travel).
  • Demonstrable financial aptitude.
  • Demonstrable exposure to the Channel Environment.

Preferred Qualities:

  • Background in transformation projects or digital business consulting.
  • Ability to thrive in a scale-up or high-growth SaaS environment.
  • Passion for customer advocacy and long-term relationship building
  • Self-driven, solution oriented, self-starter.
