Job summary
A pest control services provider is seeking a Service Technician to deliver high-quality pest control services in Empangeni. The role involves ensuring client satisfaction, achieving productivity standards, and providing excellent customer care. Candidates must have a Matric certificate, prior pest control experience, and a valid driver’s license. The position promises a supportive and diverse work environment where fulfilling customer needs is key.
Qualifications
- Previous pest control experience is essential.
- Must possess a valid unendorsed code 08 driver’s licence with 2 years proven driving experience.
- Experience in fumigation is advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high quality pest control services in line with company SOP and SWP.
- Achieve productivity standards and retain clients through service excellence.
- Advise clients on housekeeping, stacking, and proofing requirements.
Skills
Education
The Service Technician is responsible for delivering high quality pest control services in line with RI standard operating procedure (SOP) and safe work procedures (SWP) at the required productivity rates. This ensures that the client experiences service excellence. The Technician also provides good customer care, fulfilling customer needs and building the relationship between Rentokil and the customer, supporting retention and portfolio growth.
- Provide quality pest control/management service in line with SOP and SWP
- Achieve productivity standards set by the company
- Follow route and service plans to comply with business plans
- Retain existing clients through service excellence and identify growth opportunities through leads
- Comply with the Rentokil Code of Conduct
- Effectively use service tracking tools specified by the company
- Compile necessary documentation for client and the office after service completion
- Advise client on housekeeping, stacking and proofing requirements
- Comply with legislation and regulations as set out in Act 36 of 1947
- Ensure equipment and vehicle is maintained and clean at all times
- Carry an adequate range of pesticides (compliant to the APL) and equipment necessary to deliver service
- Always apply pesticides according to label instructions
- Follow good stock control principles
- Protect the company vehicle and image at all times
- Use correct Personal Protective Equipment
- Meet company and client Health & Safety requirements

- Valid unendorsed code 08 driver’s licence with 2 years proven driving experience
- Good written, verbal and non-verbal communication skills

- Matric certificate/Grade 12
- Previous pest control experience
- Fully qualified (NCPC) or PMA/PCSIB
- Registered with the Department of Agriculture (P-Number)
- H&S knowledge and experience
- HACCP experience and knowledge
- Working at heights experience
- Fumigation experience (qualification advantageous)
