As a Repair Technician, you will be required to carry out day to day repair works, know how to work and operate a equipment autonomous maintenance activity.

GE Aerospace Engine Services Malaysia (GEESM) in Subang plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and performance of aviation fleets every day. Established in 1997 as a Center of Excellence for CFM56 engines, GEESM has grown into a key hub of our global operations. It now services commercial aircraft engines, components, and accessories.

Role Overview:

  • Setting-up and operating inspection and/or manufacturing tools/equipment such as conventional electrical discharge machines, grinders, precision assembly devices, peen machines, TIG-tack welder, heat treat, plasma spray, etc.
  • Performing basic mathematical calculations.
  • Using precision gages/fixtures and inspection measuring equipment and interpreting mechanical blueprints, sketches, engineering specifications and drawings to determine set-ups and operations necessary to complete job tasks.
  • Training duties.
  • Performing related environmental, health, safety, maintenance, quality, continuous improvement, and production-flow job duties to support plant machinery, equipment, and manufacturing-related initiatives and programs.
  • Maintaining detailed job task documentation, reports, and records.
  • Experience and knowledge in paint preparation, handling and painting related processes.
  • Able to interpret and understand manual requirement and follow step by step process.
  • Perform repairs on engine parts.
  • Autonomous Maintenance and good practices on machines and tools in the work area.
  • Meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost target of the cell.
  • Meet QCWI, shop quality requirements and show accountability in day-to-day job.
  • Perform repair tasks according to manual to complete the work scope instruction.
  • Proficient in using SAP, or operating with measuring tools.
  • Determines the repair-ability of parts that do not meet the applicable requirements.
  • Records the measurement results on the appropriate documentation.
  • Play an active role in Lean and continuous improvement activities across shop.
  • Be flexible and perform task assigned by area leader on daily basis.
  • Be a team player and able to integrate into a team to work on kaizens.
  • Set-up and operation of machine/manufacturing tools and equipment.
  • Reading and interpreting mechanical blueprints, drawings, engineering specifications, etc.
  • Performing basic mathematical calculations.
  • Use of manufacturing/machine tool measuring equipment and gages.
  • Flight Deck fundamentals.
  • EH&S processes and procedures.
  • Oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability in maintaining relationships by recognizing needs and sensitivities of others, and cooperating and resolving conflicts that inspire the Team in achieving objectives and deliverables.
  • Demonstrated ability in receiving guidance and supervision, following work rules, safety practices, work procedures; meeting deadlines; and punctuality and attendance standards.

Required Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Aviation or Engineering related fields.
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years working experience in performing painting on aircraft / engine parts or general repair and able to perform dimensional inspection of engine parts.
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret ESM, AMM, Repair manual and other applicable manuals.
  • Knowledgeable and proficient in the proper use of precision measuring equipment such as Vernier calipers, gauges, etc.
  • Working knowledge of the functions and operation of the equipment while performing repair.
  • Proficient in technical writing.
  • Candidates must have good eyesight.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams, learn new skills quickly and share knowledge with colleagues.
  • Must be able to speak and understand English.
  • Able to mentor trainees and impart repair and machining skills/knowledge.
