Job summary
A newly established manufacturing company in Johor, Malaysia, is seeking a Production Manager to develop and maintain production schedules. You will coordinate with procurement, monitor production processes, and work with sales teams. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s in Engineering and at least 5 years of experience in project planning, with strong analytical skills. Fluent Mandarin is required for client communication. As a key player in the global supply chain, the company serves various industries including automotive, medical healthcare, marine, telecommunications, logistics, railway, and others. With a strong international presence, they operate more than 10 sales outlets worldwide.
Job Description:
- Develop and maintain detailed production schedules based on customer orders, inventory levels, and production capacity.
- Coordinate with procurement to ensure the timely availability of raw materials and components.
- Monitor production processes and adjust schedules as necessary to address any delays or changes in production priorities.
- Analyse production data to identify and resolve potential bottlenecks or inefficiencies.
- Collaborate with the production team to optimise the use of resources, including labour, equipment, and materials.
- Maintain accurate records of production activities, inventory levels, and order status.
- Communicate with sales and customer service teams to provide updates on production status and delivery schedules.
- Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track production performance and drive continuous improvement.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in any Engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project planning and management, preferably in a manufacturing industry.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify critical paths and optimize schedules.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across functions.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and production workflows is a plus.
- Candidates fluent in Mandarin (Speak, Read & Write) is a must to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients.
