Established and maintain Procurement processes including verification and certification of approved vendors, regular update of vendors performances and ensuring Vendors adherence to Code of Ethics (anti-corruption & bribery) in addition to process of purchasing cycle policies and procedures.
Plan, direct and manage the Procurement Department to ensure timely sourcing of competitive bids with procurement of items efficiently and timely to support vessels operations and drydocking.
Constant monitoring and liaison with other departments on their purchases and delivery schedule (received PR from various departments, initiate 3 bids quotation, etc).
Review requirements for maintenance of tugs and setting up inventory of spares to support operations.
Liaising with relevant authorities on logistics matters, importation requirements and custom duties and taxes where applicable.
To source new suppliers and maintaining long-lasting relationships with them as well as existing suppliers.
Ensure commercial, legal and contractual compliances in all the procurement transactions.
The Procurement Manager will oversee team workflow, mentor new joiners, ensure timely processing of PRs and PO issuance to vendors, and follow up on order progress.
Handle any matters on an ad-hoc basis as instructed by management.
Job Requirements:
Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor Degree in Logistic/ Supply Chain Management or equivalent.
Minimum 10 years of experience in handling end-to-end procurement/ supply chain activities with at least 7 years being in a managerial role as Procurement or Supply Chain Manager.
Preferable experience in dealing with the marine-related industry (marine or vessels industry or logistic & warehouse) with experience in handling subordinates.
Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia and comprehensive written skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
Committed to work and possess good communication skills with strong leadership and analytical abilities.
Possess own vehicle and is willing to travel within Malaysia with short notice period.
