A leading plantation company in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a qualified tax professional to handle the preparation and analysis of tax schedules. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Finance & Accounting along with a minimum of 5 years of experience. Responsibilities include tax computations, advising on sales and service tax matters, and assisting in audits. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, is essential. The role requires independence and strong time management skills.
Compiling and analysing tax schedules for preparation of tax computation. Thereafter to finalise tax computation and tax returns for tax submission to IRB.
Updating capital allowance schedules for Genting Plantations Berhad (GENP) group of companies.
Preparing quarterly current tax/ deferred tax computation and year-end tax reconciliation for effective tax rate for GENP and its subsidiaries.
Preparing current tax/ deferred tax computation based on budget, mid-year budget and forecast. Reviewing service tax and sales tax submission to Customs Dept (including imported service tax returns).
Advising finance on sales and service tax matters, including tax audits/ verfications by Customs Dept. Ensuring that sales tax exemption conditions are adhered to.
Ad-hoc research on withholdng tax, tax incentives, tax updates, e-invoicing, service tax & sales tax issues, etc.
Assisting in tax field audit involving GENP and its subsidiaries (i.e. attending pre-audit meeting, collating and review of documents, etc).
Analysing and compiling agreements & supporting documents for related party transactions between GENP group of companies (for Transfer Pricing (TP) purposes). Updating TP documentation to ensure that it's contemporaneous.
Prepare and compile information required for Real Property Gains Tax/ Capital Gains Tax submission. Assisting in stamp duty readiness for GENPG
Degree in Finance & Accounting, ACCA/MICPA/CIMA/CPA or equivalent.
Minimum 5 years working experience.
Prior usage of the SAP system will be an added advantage.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint.
Be able to work independently with minimum supervision.
Possess good time management skill and is able to meet deadlines.
