A leading insurance provider in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a New Business Underwriting Specialist to analyze and underwrite life insurance business. The ideal candidate will provide technical support to customers, maintain distributor relationships, and contribute to developing underwriting standards. Responsibilities
- Underwrites and analyzes new and existing life insurance business.
- Provides technical underwriting support to customers.
- Maintains relationships with internal and external distributors.
- Handles queries within authority limits, assessing risk.
- Contributes to development of underwriting standards.
- Suggests ideas for improved underwriting propositions.
- Identifies training needs and assists with training.

With guidance, underwrites and analyzes new and existing life insurance business within delegated authority levels to achieve business goals and maximize customer satisfaction.
- Completes assignments of moderate to high complexity within delegated authority.
- Provides technical underwriting support and guidance to customers and distributors, ensuring excellent customer service.
- Maintains relationships with internal and external distributors by requesting correct evidence, making appropriate decisions, and explaining rating decisions clearly.
- Handles queries and referrals within authority limits, assessing risk and maintaining underwriting standards.
- Contributes to the development and enhancement of underwriting standards, controls, and procedures to meet business objectives.
- Suggests ideas for new or improved propositions, procedures, and philosophies to ensure appropriate premium charges for risks.
- Identifies training needs for self and others and assists with training as needed.
