Job summary
A leading electronics manufacturer in Malaysia seeks a Material Manager for the Supply Chain department. Responsibilities include managing inventory, resolving customer and supplier escalations, and optimizing materials to meet revenue goals. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Business Administration, at least 10 years of material experience in electronics manufacturing, and proficiency in MRP systems. This role offers a great opportunity to lead within a dynamic team.
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of material experience in an electronics manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of PC-based and mainframe MRP systems.
Responsibilities
- Act as the focal point for customer and supplier escalations.
- Minimize inventory while maintaining optimal material levels.
- Manage excess and obsolescence to minimize liabilities.

- Focal point of contact and drive for timely resolution of customer/supplier escalations.
- Minimize inventory while maintaining optimum materials level to meet revenue goals and customer commits.
- Manage excess and obsolescence to minimize materials liabilities to Plexus and customer.
- Review and approve purchase commitments made by buyers.
- Conversant to customer contract and Plexus SOPs.
- Provide mentoring/coaching to DA and buyers to ensure customer demands are well executed without compromising Plexus internal metrics.
- Work collaboratively with various functional teams to ensure contingency plans are in place to deal with changes/crisis situations.
- Making tactical decision on materials related within the site level job scopes and escalation to MM as required.
- Degree/ Master in Business Administration or a related discipline with minimum 10 years’ material experience in an electronics manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of PC-based/ mainframe MRP and production control systems.
