Job Title: Primary Lead Teacher

Location: Glebedale School, Stoke-on-Trent, ST4 3AY

Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum depending on experience (not pro rata)

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only

Start Date: November 2025

Are you a passionate educator ready to lead, inspire, and make a real difference in the lives of pupils with additional needs? Glebedale School is seeking a Primary Lead Teacher to join our supportive, close-knit team in Stoke-on-Trent.

This is a unique opportunity to combine leadership, mentorship, and classroom excellence while shaping the Key Stage 2 curriculum in a nurturing, inclusive environment. You'll play a central role in raising standards, driving innovation, and supporting staff and pupils to reach their full potential.

About the role

As the Primary Lead Teacher, you will work alongside the Assistant Headteacher to:

  • Lead and manage the KS2 curriculum, ensuring high-quality teaching and the effective use of resources
  • Deliver outstanding classroom teaching and support pupils' learning across the primary phase
  • Contribute to whole-school self-evaluation and improvement planning
  • Mentor and develop staff within the key stage, providing guidance, support, and inspiration

You will have the opportunity to set high expectations for pupils and staff, model excellent teaching practices, and foster a culture of curiosity, achievement, and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

In collaboration with the Assistant Headteacher:

  • Inspire and motivate staff and pupils to maintain high standards across KS2
  • Lead by example in the classroom, demonstrating innovative strategies to improve pupil performance
  • Support staff development and induction, ensuring continuity and quality across the key stage
  • Collaborate with parents, carers, and the wider community to enhance pupil learning
  • Oversee schemes of work, track progress, and measure the impact of teaching and learning
  • Contribute to reviewing and refining the curriculum to ensure progression and engagement
Who We're Looking For
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Proven experience teaching within the primary phase, with a strong record of outstanding teaching in KS2
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development relevant to leadership and KS2 delivery
