We have an exciting opportunity available to recruit a Healthcare Support Worker looking for part‑time hours to join our HDU team on the Tiger Safari Ward. The post holder will be expected to work a mixture of long days or nights. The Healthcare Support Worker will work as part of the wider health‑care team in providing high‑quality, safe and compassionate care to children, young people and their families.

Perform a range of skilled clinical tasks such as providing care to stable tracheostomy patients and stable long‑term ventilation patients, providing enteral feeding (nasogastric/gastrostomy/jejunostomy), suctioning, cannulation, venepuncture and reporting any issues to the Registered Professional.

• Deliver care that has already been planned by a clinician or a Registered Nurse and take appropriate action to ensure that outcomes are achieved.
• Support and supervise the multidisciplinary team delivering care to patients; support and supervision is provided by a Registered Professional.
• Competently perform the necessary aspects of care for patients.
• Ensure effective delivery of clinical care and maintain an acceptable standard.
• Follow Trust policies and provide a safe and person‑centred environment for the treatment of patients.
• Participate in personal and practice development activities to maintain standards of care, including:

1. Improving representation at senior levels of staff with disabilities, from Black, Asian and ethnic minorities background, identifying as LGBTQ+ and women, through improved recruitment and leadership development.
2. Widening access (anchor institution) and employability.
3. Improving the experience of staff with disability.
4. Improving the EDI literacy and confidence of Trust staff through training and development.
5. Making equalities mainstream.

• Hold a Care Certificate issued by an NHS provider organisation (Care Certificate from NHS England or online training provider is not acceptable).
• Or have completed an NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care in a UK college.
