Job summary
A leading HR consulting firm is looking for an experienced HR manager in Johannesburg to manage full payroll functions and oversee Industrial Relations matters. Candidates must have a diploma in HR and 7 years of HR experience, with a focus on payroll administration and compliance with South African labour laws. This role requires strong analytical skills and a commitment to integrity.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in a generalist HR role, with at least 3 years at a senior level.
- Proven experience in payroll administration, IR case management, and COIDA processes.
- Excellent knowledge of South African labour laws and HR best practices.
Responsibilities
- Manage and process the full payroll function accurately and timeously.
- Oversee all Industrial Relations (IR) matters, including disciplinary hearings.
- Prepare and submit regular HR reports to management and stakeholders.

- Oversee all Industrial Relations (IR) matters, including disciplinary hearings, consultations, and grievance procedures.
- Handle all COIDA (Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act) claims and ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
- Prepare and submit regular HR reports to management and relevant stakeholders.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and employee wellness initiatives.
- Maintain and update employee records in accordance with company policy and labour laws.
- Provide expert HR advice and ensure adherence to all statutory requirements.
- Diploma or Degree in Human Resources Management or related field.
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in a generalist HR role, with at least 3 years at a senior level.
- Proven experience in payroll administration, IR case management, and COIDA processes.
- Excellent knowledge of South African labour laws and HR best practices.
- Strong reporting and analytical skills.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
