Our client, a Chemical business based in Pretoria, is seeking to employ an HR Manager to join their team. The purpose of the role is to lead and manage the overall HR function, ensuring the effective implementation of policies, procedures, and systems that align with the organisation’s goals. The HR Manager is responsible for workforce planning, employee relations, performance management, compliance, and talent development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the company’s overall objectives.
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and retention initiatives to attract and retain top talent.
  • Ensure compliance with labour laws, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Manage employee relations, including grievances, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.
  • Coordinate training and development programs to enhance employee performance and career growth.
  • Administer compensation, benefits, and payroll in coordination with Finance.
  • Drive performance management processes including KPIs, reviews, and performance improvement plans.
  • Monitor and report on HR metrics such as turnover, absenteeism, and employee engagement.
  • Maintain and update HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks.
  • Promote a positive workplace culture, including diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in an HR generalist or HR management role.
  • Professional certification (e.g., SABPP, HRM, SHRM, or CIPD) is an advantage.
