Supports Physical Access Control Solutions (PACS) Business Area by validating the successful integration and performance of Physical Access Systems comprising of but not limited to: Authentication Credentials and services (Physical and Mobile), Authentication Devices, Access Control Devices, and Device/System Management. The focus of the role will be to help drive Mobile Access User Experience improvements in HID Solutions.

What problems will we be solving
How can we objectively and quantitatively characterize the full experience of using mobile access solutions built around our (HID) platforms inclusive of the major person types? As part of this, how to identify what a good experience looks like, measure whether we've achieved it, and identify where specific aspects need to be improved (and by how much).

Duties and Responsibilities include the following but are not limited to:
As a Systems Quality Assurance Engineer II, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our MA solutions from a user perspective. You will be responsible for executing test plans, identifying UX and usability issues, as well as defects, and communicating findings effectively to stakeholders. This role is ideal for someone who is eager to grow as a UX QA engineer, learn new tools and processes, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our MA Solutions.
Specific duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned as required.
- Integrates all aspects of HIDs PACS Portfolio and reports on system/solution performance, stability, and user experience.
- Undertakes to test solutions in different real-world environments.
- Maintains the Systems/Solution lab such that it can function 24/7, integrating new products or upgrades into the overall Solution Test Bench as and when they become available from the respective development teams.
- Keeps abreast with the latest mobile devices and wearables for incorporation into test equipment for MA UX testing.
- Researches, plans, formulates, and executes activities in the development of Test plans and Test runs which validate Systems/Solution level performance and key Non-Functional Requirements.
- Contributes to the design and implementation of test solutions within well-defined parameters with an appreciation of how the product under test integrates with the overall solution.
- Identifies use-case scenarios to facilitate UX testing of product features.
- Contributes to test planning by actively considering E2E and UX of the System/Solution.
- Reviews Program plans, product specifications, defect reports, and marketing requirements to continually evolve the Systems/Solution test bench. Runs Baseline exercises as required to gather baseline data.
- Analyses test data to determine if the solution meets functional and performance specifications.
- Aware of Functional and non-functional Testing Techniques and applies these as applicable within the UX test context.
- Able to perform tests to a given script (Manual or Automated). Develops tools and tests systems to support required automation.
- Able to extend existing automated Test Solutions with new Test Cases.
- Able to identify defects reliably and to communicate defects accurately using suitable and appropriate tools. Understand the importance of evidence-based analysis when identifying defects.
- Aware of TDD and the shift-left approaches to proactively identify potential UX pain points in the product well before launch.
- Generates Test Reports and/or other data required by Engineering/Program Teams.
- Attends regular Pulse meetings and reports on Test Planning Scope and Test status.
- Conference with other HID personnel to clarify or resolve problems.
- Undertake assignments to support the PACS Development Roadmap and associated Value Streams.
Technology Stack Experience (in support of testing)
- Previous experience with mobile App and/or Web User Experience (UX) / User Acceptance (UAT) testing.
- Experience with software testing methodologies (Black box, white box, functional, and non-functional) within the context of the SDLC.
- Experience with defect and bug tracking tools such as Jira, Confluence or similar.
- Experience with test management tools such as TestRail or similar.
- Experience with visual collaboration tools such as Miro or similar.
- Experience with data analytics and data visualization tools such as Oracle Analytics, Grafana, Mixpanel or similar.
- Experience with automation frameworks and programming languages (C, C++, C#, Python, XAML, etc.).
- Experience with application development environments: .Net, Visual Studio, Arduino IDE.
- Experience with test automation development and test automation tools: Appium, Selenium or similar (Desirable).
- Experience with API testing and scripting via Postman or similar tools (Desirable).
- Proficient in MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Experience with operating systems such as Android, iOS, and Linux.
- Knowledge of SQL or other databases (Desirable).
Desired Skills & Experience Or Qualification:
- Possesses a relevant degree or equivalent qualification and 3-5 years software testing (UAT/UX) experience.
- ISTQB, CFTL or UX/UAT testing certification (highly desirable).
- This position would ideally suit an Access Control or L3 Technical Support Engineer with extensive experience in scoping, installing, configuring, and supporting all aspects of Physical Access Control Systems under real-world conditions.
- The ability to drive continuous product/solution quality based on real-world experiences and practices is paramount.
- Possesses and applies comprehensive knowledge, principles, practices, and procedures over a wide range of PACS Systems and Solutions.
- Experience with the following desirable:
- Lean and Agile methodologies including SAFe.
- Access Control management via Head-End or IAM Systems.
- May expand knowledge and skills to related sets of job duties as required.

- Ability to effectively communicate in the English language verbally and in writing.
- Able to gather and report on systems performance in a clear and concise manner.
- Ability to read and interpret technical journals, specifications, international technical standards, etc.
