The Global Outsourced Operations team is responsible for the coordination, planning, manufacturing, and delivery of Dyson products, refurbishment, spares, and accessories worldwide. This includes bringing new products and technologies into production and managing ongoing manufacturing processes. The team engages with and manages contract manufacturers and outsourced partners to ensure product quality, reliability, and optimal output.

As Dyson’s Operations Manager in Malaysia, you are at the centre of our manufacturing network—turning vision into reality. Your role is to direct daily operations, develop people and processes, and secure seamless, high‑quality product delivery. Success means bridging the needs of the business, our global teams, and our key external manufacturing partners.

Operational Leadership

• Oversee and manage day‑to‑day manufacturing operations to maximise output, productivity, and product quality.
• Ensure all procedures comply with Dyson’s global standards, industry regulations, and local policies.

Performance & Reporting

• Develop, track, and analyse operational KPIs (output, cost, quality, delivery, yield, efficiency).
• Design and implement robust reporting and auditing processes—translating metrics into actionable insights.
• Regularly provide concise, data‑driven updates to leadership.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work hand‑in‑hand with Engineering (NPI, R&D), Supply Chain, Finance, Quality Assurance, Procurement, HR, and Compliance to ensure aligned objectives and smooth information flow.
• Lead and facilitate project reviews and operational performance meetings, driving clear decision making and accountability.

CM/JDM Partner Management

• Main point of CM/JDM —setting standards, providing direction, and resolving complex operational escalations.
• Support onboarding and integration of new first‑tier manufacturers and second‑tier subcontractors.
• Align external partners with Dyson’s operational, quality, and ethical expectations.

Process & Efficiency

• Continuously identify opportunities for efficiency—waste reduction, cost improvements, cycle time reduction, and increased adherence to specifications.
• Champion Lean methodologies and process engineering.

Technology & Product Transfer

• Drive and de‑risk new product introductions and technology transfers into the manufacturing environment.
• Proactively identify obstacles and implement mitigation plans to ensure successful first‑time builds.

Cost Management

• Leverage experience in manufacturing, lean, and project management to spot, propose, and implement operational cost savings.
• Ensure all cost management strategies support quality and delivery aims.

CSR & Compliance

• Uphold Dyson’s corporate ethics, social responsibility, and sustainability commitments in all operational processes.
• Ensure all projects and supplier relationships adhere to regulatory and compliance requirements.

Quality Assurance

• Direct link for managing non‑conformities, audit responses, and continuous improvements.
• Engineering / NPI / R&D: Collaborate closely for new product launches, design for manufacturability reviews, and ongoing product/process changes.
• Organise and lead regular performance review calls/meetings with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Responsible for insight‑driven reporting—turning operational data into clear, actionable summaries for leadership and peers.
• Supports audit preparations, documentation, and compliance submissions.

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, supply chain, or related field.
• 5+ years’ experience in high‑volume manufacturing, operations, or Joint Development Management (JDM), ideally within Malaysia or Southeast Asia.
• Lean Methodology knowledge: Strong understanding and hands‑on experience implementing Lean principles to drive efficiency and reduce waste.
• Chinese speaking: Proficient in Mandarin to enable effective communication with suppliers, partners, and cross‑border teams.
• JDM experience: Direct involvement in joint development management with external manufacturing partners.
• Project Management: Proven track record of leading complex projects in a manufacturing environment, with strong organisational and stakeholder management skills.
• Manufacturing background: Deep knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality systems, and operational best practices.
• Risk management: Ability to identify potential risks in the manufacturing and project pipeline and implement effective mitigation strategies.
• Process control: Demonstrated experience in establishing, monitoring, and improving process controls to maintain consistent product quality and performance.
• Excellent cross‑functional communicator; able to work effectively with internal teams and external partners.
• Results‑driven, self‑motivated, and able to perform under pressure.
• Willingness to travel within Malaysia and the region as required.
