A leading game development studio in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an experienced Audio Director to oversee the creation and implementation of sound effects, voiceovers, and music for game projects. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in audio production, strong leadership skills, and expertise in integrating audio into game engines such as Unreal and Unity. This role involves managing an audio team, ensuring high-quality audio assets, and coordinating closely with various departments to enhance the gaming experience.
Oversee the creation, editing, and implementation of sound effects, ambience, VO, and music for game projects.
Ensure all audio assets meet project quality standards and creative direction.
Maintain consistency of audio style across the project.
Lead, mentor, and guide the audio team, including sound designers, audio engineers, and composers.
Assign tasks, review deliverables, and ensure timely completion of audio milestones.
Provide constructive feedback and support team members’ development.
Plan audio production schedules based on project scope and deadlines.
Coordinate closely with producers, directors, and other department leads.
Ensure smooth workflow, proper file management, and efficient pipeline processes.
Work closely with game designers, animators, and programmers to integrate audio effectively.
Attend production meetings to align audio needs with gameplay, cutscenes, and technical requirements.
Oversee the implementation of audio assets into game engines (e.g., Unreal, Unity, Wwise, FMOD).
Troubleshoot audio-related technical issues and optimize audio performance.
Conduct regular audio reviews and playtests to ensure the best player experience.
Adjust, refine, and enhance audio assets based on feedback.
Maintain clear audio guidelines, naming conventions, and workflow documentation.
Ensure the audio pipeline is efficient and scalable for future projects.
Work with external sound studios or freelancers and review their deliverables.
Ensure outsourced audio meets project expectations and technical requirements.
