Job summary

A leading agriculture company in Selangor is seeking a Farm Manager to oversee poultry production, enforce biosecurity standards, and manage farm operations. Ideal candidates must have a Bachelor's degree and at least 10 years of working experience, including 5 years in managerial roles. Responsibilities include flock management, compliance with safety regulations, and preparing performance reports. This role requires strong leadership and problem-solving skills, along with communication and interpersonal abilities.

Job description
QL Ansan Poultry Farm Sdn Bhd (Rawang) – Hulu Selangor, Selangor

Ensure optimal egg production through effective flock management (feed, water, lighting, vaccination and health programs).

Enforce strict biosecurity and animal welfare standards.

Work with veterinarians and nutritionists on health and performance improvement.

2. Pullet Rearing

Oversee pullet rearing programs to ensure healthy, uniform flocks ready for transfer to layer houses.

Monitor weight gain, uniformity, feed intake, vaccination schedules and mortality.

Implement best practices in rearing to minimize stress and disease risk.

3. Maintenance Management

Supervise farm infrastructure, machinery, and equipment maintenance (layer houses, pullet houses, ventilation, water systems, generators, vehicles, security system).

Plan preventive maintenance schedules to reduce downtime.

Coordinate with maintenance team for quick resolution of technical issues.

4. Fertilizer Plant Operations

Oversee by-product (manure) management and fertilizer plant operation.

Ensure proper processing, packaging and quality control of organic fertilizer.

Optimize waste utilization for sustainability and profitability.

5. People & Resource Management

Lead and manage farm supervisors, technicians, and workers across different units.

Develop training programs to improve workforce skills and compliance with SOPs.

Ensure discipline, safety and teamwork within the farm.

  • Provide ongoing guidance, monitoring and motivation to staff, including delegating work, setting goals and conducting performance reviews
6. Reporting & Compliance

Prepare regular farm performance reports (production, mortality, costs, maintenance, fertilizer output) in weekly and monthly basis.

Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (environmental, health & safety, labor).

Work closely with Safety officer in compliance to environmental laws and regulations to avoid any legal or reputational risks.

Monitor farm budgets, costs and recommend efficiency improvements.

Job Requirement:
Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years working experience and at least 5 years in managerial roles.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
  • Preferable with hands‑on experience in agriculture farming or manufacturing industry.
  • Preferable with knowledge of poultry production processes, biosecurity measures, and food safety regulations.
  • Possess proven track record in managing sizable group of subordinates.
  • Demonstrated problem solving, decision making and crisis management skills.
  • Strong leadership skills and able to motivate all levels of team members.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to upholding high standards of product quality and safety.
  • Good in communication and interpersonal skill.
  • Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and sustainability audit will be an added advantage.
