A leading technology firm in Johor, Malaysia is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to enhance its Quality Management System in line with ISO standards. The role involves supervising quality control activities, addressing customer feedback, and reporting on quality metrics. Candidates should have at least a Diploma or Degree in a relevant field and a minimum of 2 years of experience in quality management. This position calls for strong leadership and problem-solving skills in a dynamic environment.
Assist in maintaining and improving the Quality Management System (QMS) according to ISO standards and customer requirements.
Review and update quality procedures, SOPs, work instructions, and control plans.
Ensure compliance with internal quality standards across all departments.
Support internal and external audits and lead audit preparations.
Supervise incoming, in-process, and outgoing inspection activities.
Ensure QC inspectors follow correct sampling plans, measurement methods, and inspection criteria.
Review inspection records, measurement data, and quality reports for accuracy before release.
Ensure timely handling of non-conforming materials and segregation procedures.
Work closely with Production to manage and resolve quality issues on the production floor.
Support first article inspection (FAI), start-up checks, and process validation.
Provide technical guidance on process deviations and preventive actions.
Conduct line audits and verify process stability.
Handle customer complaints, non-conformance (NC) reports, and feedback.
Lead root cause analysis.
Communicate corrective and preventive actions to customer on time.
Support verification of incoming materials and supplier quality performance.
Assist in supplier audits and follow up on corrective actions.
Monitor supplier rejection rates and work with suppliers on improvement.
Lead and supervise QC Inspectors and QA Technicians.
Plan manpower for all QC checkpoints.
Provide training on inspection techniques, quality standards, and measuring tools.
Monitor team performance, discipline, and competency.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly quality reports for management review.
Track trends in defects, scrap, and rework.
Drive quality improvement projects (Kaizen, 5S, Poka-Yoke).
Monitor effectiveness of corrective actions and implement process improvement.
Ensure measuring instruments and testing equipment are calibrated.
Maintain calibration records and coordinate with external service providers.
Ensure tools are handled correctly and kept in good condition.
