A company in the palm oil refining industry seeks a Facility Manager to oversee daily operations in Lahad Datu, Sabah. The successful applicant will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering and significant experience in palm oil refining processes, including a minimum of 8 - 10 years in operations and at least 3 - 5 in a managerial role. Candidates should possess strong leadership skills, compliance knowledge, and experience managing large teams to optimize refining performance and ensure product quality.
Oversee day-to-day refinery operations, including refining, fractionation, packing, and dispatch.
Manage refinery performance indicators, including yield, OER recovery, energy consumption, and processing losses.
Ensure production targets are achieved in terms of volume, quality, cost, and delivery timelines.
Ensure strict compliance with quality standards, including GMP, ISCC, Halal, and ISO requirements.
Implement, enforce, and continuously improve safety, health, and environmental (SHE) policies and practices.
Lead, coach, and develop refinery personnel, including engineers, supervisors, and operators.
Plan preventive maintenance schedules in collaboration with engineering teams to minimise downtime.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost optimisation, process efficiency, and waste reduction.
Prepare operational reports, budgets, and performance reviews for management.
Liaise with external stakeholders, including auditors, regulatory authorities, and suppliers.
Develop, implement, and maintain quality control procedures, protocols, and SOPs.
Support business planning activities, including 5-Year Planning and Refinery Strategic Initiatives.
A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering or a related engineering discipline is preferred.
Minimum 8 - 10 years of experience in palm oil refining operations, with at least 3 - 5 years in a managerial or leadership role.
Proven results in palm oil refining operations, including physical, chemical refining and fractionation.
Familiarity with MSPO/RSPO, food safety standards, Halal requirements, and DOE regulations will be an added advantage.
Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and sound decision-making capabilities.
Strong hands-on operational, financial, and people management skills.
Willingness to be based at or relocate to Lahad Datu, Sabah.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
Experience managing large teams and multi-shift refinery operations is encouraged to apply.
