A medical interpretation service is seeking Bilingual Medical Interpreters fluent in Cantonese and English for remote work. As an interpreter, you will facilitate communication between healthcare providers and patients, ensuring accurate understanding of medical information. Ideal candidates will have experience in medical interpretation, a solid grasp of medical terminology, and strong communication and cultural sensitivity skills. As a Medical Consecutive Interpreter, your primary responsibility will be to facilitate clear, accurate, and professional communication between healthcare providers and patients with limited English proficiency.
- Accurately interpret medical conversations, including diagnoses, symptoms, treatments, and procedures between patients and healthcare professionals (doctors, nurses, and clinical staff).
- Assist patients in understanding healthcare processes and help providers navigate cultural nuances that may impact patient care.
- Strictly maintain patient confidentiality and comply with professional medical interpretation ethics and standards.
- Record interpretation details such as date, time, duration, and type of service provided.
- Stay up to date with medical terminology, healthcare practices, and interpretation standards to ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Fluency in English and at least one of the required languages (Cantonese, Mandarin)
- Previous experience in medical interpretation or translation is preferred
