The Seafreight Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating seafreight operations for an international freight forwarding company. This role involves managing relationships with shipping lines, agents, and forwarding agents, ensuring compliance with international trade regulations, leading a team, and overseeing costing and profitability of seafreight shipments.
- Manage seafreight import/export operations, ensuring timely and smooth cargo movement.
- Liaise with shipping lines, overseas agents, and forwarding partners to negotiate rates, secure bookings, and resolve operational issues.
- Ensure compliance with international shipping regulations, customs requirements, and company policies.
- Lead, train, and supervise a team of seafreight coordinators to foster a high-performance work environment.
- Oversee seafreight costing, including rate quotations, invoicing, and profitability analysis.
- Monitor shipment status, troubleshoot delays or discrepancies, and provide updates to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records for all seafreight transactions.
