About The Role
We are seeking a highly analytical and strategic FP&A Analyst to join our dynamic Finance team. This pivotal role will be instrumental in driving financial performance, providing critical insights, and supporting strategic decision-making across our fast-paced payment gateway operations. The FP&A Analyst will be responsible for leading budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and performance analysis, translating complex financial data into actionable business intelligence. A deep understanding of payment industry mechanics, transaction economics, and subscription/volume-based revenue models is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the annual budgeting process and develop multi-year financial forecasts (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow), incorporating business drivers specific to the payment gateway industry (e.g., transaction volumes, merchant acquisition, payment method mix).
Conduct regular re-forecasting and variance analysis against budget, prior periods, and strategic goals, identifying key trends and drivers of performance.
Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models to support various business scenarios, new product launches, market expansions, and strategic initiatives.
Performance Analysis & Reporting:
Prepare detailed monthly, quarterly, and annual financial performance reports for senior management.
Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) relevant to payment gateways, such as:
Gross Transaction Volume (GTV), Net Transaction Volume (NTV)
Take Rate / Revenue per Transaction
Transaction Success Rates
Merchant Acquisition Cost (MAC) and Lifetime Value (LTV)
Payment Method mix and associated costs (interchange, scheme fees)
Fraud rates and related costs
Operating expenses, specifically processing costs and infrastructure spend.
Provide insightful analysis on revenue drivers, cost efficiencies, and profitability by product, segment, and geography.
Business Partnering & Strategic Support:
Act as a trusted financial advisor to various departments (e.g., Sales, Product, Operations, Technology), providing financial insights, challenging assumptions, and guiding strategic investments.
Support business development and sales teams with pricing analysis, deal profitability assessments, and contract negotiations.
Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis and special projects to support strategic decision-making, including market entry analysis, RFP due diligence support, and competitor benchmarking.
Process Improvement & Systems Enhancement:
Continuously identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting methodologies, and data accuracy.
Collaborate with IT and Data teams to enhance financial systems, BI tools, and data infrastructure to automate reporting and improve analytical capabilities.
Compliance & Risk:
Understand and incorporate relevant regulatory compliance costs and implications (e.g., PCI DSS, local payment regulations) into financial models and forecasts.
Monitor and report on financial risks and opportunities related to transaction processing.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
1-2 years of progressive experience in Financial Planning & Analysis, with at least some experiences in a payment gateway, fintech, e-commerce, or technology company.
Proven expertise in financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and translate it into clear, concise insights and recommendations.
Advanced proficiency in Google Sheet/Microsoft Excel (complex formulas, pivot tables, financial modeling).
Experience with financial planning software and/or BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Google Looker Studio).
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications:
CPA, CFA, ACCA, or other relevant professional certifications.
Experience with SQL or other data querying languages.
Knowledge of global payment schemes (Visa, Mastercard), local payment methods, and interchange structures.
Experience working in a fast-growth, agile environment.
