Overview

Senior Business Support Officer

£35,391 – £45,564 per annum • Permanent • Full Time (36 hours) • Wandsworth, London • Hybrid working (at least 1 day per week in office).

Are you an experienced Senior Business Support or Administration professional looking for a new challenge? We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Business Support Officer to join our Childrens Services Business Support service, providing support with invoicing, budget monitoring, training and purchasing to our Schools and Community Psychology Service (SCPS) and the SEND and Inclusion services.

You will be responsible for managing a small team of 3 Business Support Officers who provide various admin support such as inbox monitoring, meeting support and data entry for the above-mentioned teams. You will also have full staff responsibility, including supervision, mentoring, task allocations and onboarding of new staff members. You will work collaboratively with other teams and demonstrate flexibility by supporting other services as required to provide cover.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Collaboration: You will liaise with Service Leads and the services you support daily to ensure robust support is in place including capacity and service requests.
  • Document Management: Manage SharePoint folders and filing systems, ensuring accurate document uploads as well as provide data analysis for the supported services.
  • Inbox Management: Oversee several service inboxes and the handling of service inquiries promptly and effectively.
  • Referrals: Develop and manage systems to track SCPS work allocations. Oversee the processing referrals into the service, maintaining an efficient tracking database.
  • Financial Duties: You will be responsible for budget forecasting, tracking financial transactions and follow-up where required.
Essential Qualifications, Skills And Experience
  • Proven experience in staff management with the ability to work on their own initiative and provide cover to the Team Manager during their absence.
  • Sound knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office (all elements) and an ability to provide some IT support and advice to new team members.
  • An understanding of the importance of GDPR, confidentiality and understanding of safeguarding Children and Young People.
  • Willingness to learn other team members areas of work to be able to cover other areas as deemed necessary by the line manager.
  • Strong communicator who can communicate effectively with senior council officers, health professionals, partner agencies and service users independently.
  • Ability to deal with competing demands through planning and prioritisation to meet deadlines.
