As the Plumbing Foreman, you will be involved with managing commercial construction projects and assisting with project needs including material management, personnel, schedules, and communication with the project management team, customers, and building officials.
Compensation depends on knowledge, skills, and experience.
Principal Duties And Responsibilities
- Knowledge of project schedules, milestones, submittals, contract documents (addenda, specifications, drawings), and in-house shop drawings.
- Coordinate with other trades to complete plumbing/piping installations within project scope and schedule.
- Manage project crews to install various plumbing systems for domestic, drainage, and sanitation.
- Manage commercial plumbing construction projects.
- Ensure safety of personnel and equipment.
- Understand and comply with company tool policies and teach these values to less experienced employees.
- Complete electronic documentation such as daily reports, plans, accident reports, disciplinary reports, etc.
- Install plumbing systems using hand and power tools as needed.
- Work from ladders, manlifts, and other equipment at heights.
- Perform other related duties or special projects as assigned.
Education, Training, Licenses, and Certifications
- 3 years of experience as a plumbing foreman on commercial projects (preferred).
- Experience leading teams of 1-5 (preferred).
- Current journeyman license (preferred).
- Current master license (preferred).
- OSHA 30-hour certification (preferred).
Additional Requirements
- Complete company-specific welding, soldering, and brazing tests.
- Mechanical aptitude, math, and English skills required.
- Ability to read blueprints and design documents.
- Perform material take-offs from design documents.
- Create work plans for self and subordinates.
- Maintain a positive, cooperative, and coachable attitude.
- Self-motivated and proactive.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Follow and promote safety policies.
- Lead, teach, and coach others.
- Physical ability to stand, squat, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Familiar with blueprints and equipment layouts.
- Pass background, drug, and physical ability tests.
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel as needed.
