Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Ontario is seeking senior students enrolled in a Mechanical or Chemical Engineering Co-op Program for a Quality Testing position. Responsibilities include conducting tests, assisting in research projects, and managing laboratory data. Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a lab setting is preferred.
  • Capable of lifting and moving up to 50 pounds regularly.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct tests on roofing shingle products and raw materials.
  • Assist in research projects as directed by the Lab Supervisor.
  • Compile and interpret laboratory data for reporting purposes.
  • Follow internal SOPs and standardized test methods.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records adhering to quality protocols.
  • Handle sample intake and manage sample documentation.
  • Ensure laboratory equipment is properly calibrated and maintained.
  • Provide support and research data to production facilities.

Job description

Terms : January to April; May to August; and September to December each year

Start recruiting three months before each term.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Quality Testing : Conduct tests on roofing shingle products and raw materials to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Research Assistance : Assist in research projects as directed by the Lab Supervisor or Quality Engineer.
  • Data Reporting : Compile and interpret laboratory data for reporting purposes.
  • Procedure Adherence : Follow internal SOPs and standardized test methods.
  • Record Management : Maintain detailed and accurate records, adhering to quality and safety protocols.
  • Sample Processing : Handle sample intake, assign identification numbers, and manage sample documentation.
  • Equipment Maintenance : Ensure laboratory equipment is properly calibrated and maintained.
  • Additional Duties : Perform other research and quality assurance tasks as assigned.
  • Support Role : Provide support and research data to production facilities.

Ideal Candidate Profile :

  • Education : Preference for senior students enrolled in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering Co-op Program at universities
  • Experience : Previous experience in a lab setting is preferred.
  • Technical Skills : Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills.
