A leading e-commerce company is looking for a Business Intelligence Engineer in Vancouver. The Delivery CX team’s mission is to provide a best-in-class shopping and delivery experience for Amazon customers. We builds customer-facing experiences which provide customers with delivery visibility and self-service controls to ensure they never miss a delivery. We are seeking a seasoned Business Intelligence Engineer to help us raise the bar on shopping and delivery convenience through technical innovation in GenAI for BI space.
As a Business Intelligence Engineer, you will generate insights that will guide product and program development for our customers. Data analysis is at the core Amazon’s culture, and your work will have a direct impact on decision making and strategy for our team. You will be gathering customer insights, mining data, making recommendations, and helping senior leaders make key business decisions. You will have the opportunity to work with one of the largest and most complex data warehouses in the world to gather insights using data from across Amazon.
Translate business questions and concerns into specific quantitative questions that can be answered with available data using sound methodologies. In cases where questions cannot be answered with available data, work with engineers to produce the required data
Apply data mining, quantitative analysis, and statistical models to understand how our customers interact with us and identify the best opportunities to improve the customer experience and meet our goals
Own the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing performance metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. to drive key business decisions
Build various data visualizations to tell the story and let the data speak for itself
Retrieve, synthesize, and present critical data in a format that is immediately useful to answering specific questions or improving system performance
Build decision-making models and propose solutions for the business problem you defined
Conduct written and verbal presentations to share insights and recommendations to audiences of varying levels of technical sophistication
Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting, analysis, and experiment design: data integrity, analysis, validation, and documentation

The GDCX BI team supports Amazon’s Global Delivery Customer Experience organization by providing fast, accurate, and scalable business intelligence solutions. It partners with product, UX, and tech teams to deliver impactful analytics for strategy, planning, and performance evaluation. Key responsibilities include data pipelining, experimentation design and analysis, dashboarding, customer insights, and operational planning. The team emphasizes strong code quality, scalable architecture, and frugal resource use while ensuring data accuracy, privacy, and compliance. By empowering end users with AI enabled self-service BI tools, GDCX BI drives data-informed decisions that enhance customer experience and business efficiency across Amazon’s delivery ecosystem.
3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab
Experience writing complex SQL queries
Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets

The base salary for this position ranges from $76,400/year up to $127,600/year. Salary is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
