The opportunity

As a FAAS Senior, you will be a professional member of our Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) team. In Canada, our FAAS team consists of dedicated financial reporting and accounting advisory professionals in five locations across the country. We combine technical accounting skills in IFRS, Canadian and US GAAP, practical experience in financial reporting processes as well as deep sector and regulatory knowledge.

Your key responsibilities

As a FAAS (Finance Optimization) Senior, you will help finance leaders meet challenges that their teams are currently facing. You will work with them to achieve their potential acquisition, divestiture, process optimization, process digitization and accounting standard implementation. You will offer them innovative advice for optimizing processes, using cutting-edge technologies and creating value for their organizations.

Skills and attributes for success

  1. Identification and assessment of business needs, development of solutions tailored to client needs, assessment of the Finance function, performance of operations diagnostics, optimization of financial processes, provision of tailored training, and other
  2. Prepare deliverables tailored to client needs
  3. Promote an innovative and team-oriented work environment
  4. Develop and maintain productive relationships with client management
  5. Understand the client’s industry and recognize key performance drivers, business trends, and new technical and industry developments
  6. Stay informed of new economic developments and their impact on clients
  7. Attend training programs to continually develop skills
  8. Utilize technology to develop yourself, share knowledge with team members and enhance service delivery
  9. Maintain cooperative relationships and foster mutual support with other EY service line teams
  10. Strong spoken and written English and French language skills
  11. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to maintain impeccable relationships with clients
  12. Deep knowledge of business trends, emerging technical and industry developments
  13. Excellent project management and leadership skills
  14. Ability to manage multiple engagements and meet deadlines

To qualify for the role, you must have

  1. Undergraduate degree in project management, business administration, operations management or industrial engineering and a minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience
  2. Experience in process optimization or business analysis, including business process documentation
  3. Experience in process digitalization projects (dashboard, robotization, etc.)
  4. Experience in using the following tools and software:
  5. Modelling and process management tools
  6. Process flowchart software (Visio, LucidChart, etc.)
  7. Microsoft Office suite
  8. Highly adaptable and open to change
  9. Integrity within a professional environment

Ideally, you’ll also have

  1. The ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic team-oriented environment

The salary range for this job in British Columbia is $55,000 to $98,000. Individual salaries within this range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and work location city.
