Job description

Entry level management position focused on supporting the daily activities of Rooms Operations and supervising related areas including Housekeeping, Recreation, Laundry, Staff, AYS, and Concierge/Guest Services. The role involves directing staff to facilitate guest arrivals and departures, maintaining cleanliness standards, and ensuring guest and employee satisfaction while achieving budget goals.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED; 4 years experience in guest services, front desk, housekeeping, or related areas.
  • 2-year degree from an accredited institution in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related field; 2 years experience in similar roles.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Supporting Rooms Operations Management

  • Manage front desk, housekeeping, and other operational shifts, ensuring completion of checklists and duties.
  • Review and operate room reports and understand functions of Recreation, Laundry, Housekeeping, Bell Staff, AYS, Front Desk, and Concierge.
  • Supervise all areas in the absence of management, operate department equipment, ensure proper supplies and uniforms, understand night audit procedures, and comply with loss prevention policies.

Managing Budget and Revenue

  • Maximize room revenue through same-day selling procedures and rate verification.
  • Utilize budgets, operating statements, and payroll reports to manage expenses and understand financial impacts.

Guest Experience Management

  • Participate in investigations of accidents, use guest tracking systems, set a positive example for guest relations, and handle guest feedback and complaints effectively.

Human Resources Activities

  • Support operational functions, train staff, participate in meetings, and manage staffing levels.
  • Train employees in safety and emergency procedures, monitor service behaviors, empower staff, participate in hiring, and conduct performance appraisals.
  • Handle employee questions, participate in disciplinary procedures, recognize employee achievements, schedule staff, and assist with payroll.

The salary range for this position is $64,000 to $80,000 annually.
