Job summary
An international engineering firm based in Cape Town is looking for a Software Engineer focused on Automotive Controls. The role entails MATLAB/Simulink software development for embedded automotive controllers. Candidates should possess a BEng in Electronic or Mechatronic Engineering and have at least 3 years of related experience. The position is full-time and offers opportunities to work on innovative control systems. Applicants should be South African citizens and willing to travel as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of working experience in MATLAB/Simulink.
- Willing to travel overseas for variable periods.
- Experience in embedded controllers used in the automotive environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop Matlab/Simulink software for automotive controllers.
- Document verification and testing of control software.
- Contribute to the development of system models and simulations.

Education

BEng (Electronic or Mechatronic Engineering) required with a minimum of 3 years of working experience in MATLAB / Simulink software development for embedded controllers used in the automotive environment.
- BEng Degree in Electronic / Mechatronic Engineering (M Eng. preferred)
- Willing to travel overseas for variable periods
- 3-6 Years of experience
- Matlab / Simulink software development for automotive controllers
- Under the guidance of the Lead Software Engineer be responsible for the documentation verification and testing of control software
- Software algorithm development and control systems optimisation
- Contribute to the development of system plant models and simulations using Matlab / Simulink
- Contribute to the development of software tools required for vehicle production and field support
- Support testing of software at the module level and on prototype vehicles
