Job summary
A heavy manufacturing company in Johannesburg is seeking an experienced Inventory Manager to oversee inventory processes, ensure materials availability, and lead a stores team. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years in inventory management, a diploma in supply chain management, and a strong background in logistics and procedural optimization. This role emphasizes safety, compliance, and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in inventory or stores management within heavy manufacturing.
- Extensive experience in winching, including materials and manufacturing processes.
- Strong background in logistical operations and inventory control.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations, maintain accurate inventory levels, and manage inventory control systems.
- Supply chain coordination, including collaborating with suppliers for timely material availability.
- Develop efficient storage systems, improve inventory processes, and streamline operations.
- Lead and develop the stores team to foster a culture of safety and compliance.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, including regular audits.
- Oversee budget, including monitoring expenditures and identifying cost-saving opportunities.

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications :
- Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field

- Strong background in logistical operations and inventory control
- Oversee daily operations, maintain accurate inventory levels, and manage inventory control systems
- Supply chain coordination, including collaborating with suppliers to ensure timely material availability, negotiate terms, and manage defective returns
- Develop efficient storage systems, improve inventory processes, and streamline operations
- Lead and develop the stores team to foster a culture of safety and compliance
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, including regular audits
- Oversee budget, including monitoring expenditures, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and ensuring equipment maintenance
