We are seeking a highly skilled Compensation and Benefits Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in compensation planning, regulatory compliance, and benefits administration, with a strong focus on South African regulations and transformation initiatives. This role requires expertise in compensation structures, analytics, and the ability to lead Remuneration Committee (Remco) meetings. Experience with Workday and knowledge of Short-Term Incentives (STI) versus Long-Term Incentives (LTI) is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Compensation and Benefits Administration: Manage and administer compensation and benefits programs, ensuring compliance with South African regulations and company policies.
Regulatory Compliance: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory requirements, including BEE (Black Economic Empowerment) and transformation initiatives. Ensure compliance with Department of Labour audits and requirements.
Workday System Utilization: Utilize the Workday system for compensation planning, benefits administration, and analytics.
Compensation Structures: Develop and manage various compensation structures and ranges, ensuring competitive and equitable pay practices.
Africa Experience: Leverage experience in African markets to inform compensation strategies and practices.
Compensation Planning Cycles: Lead and manage compensation planning cycles, including the preparation of Remco packs and analytics.
Remco Leadership: Lead Remco meetings, providing insights and recommendations on compensation strategies and practices.
Executive Support: Support the Executive Committee (Exco) in plotting compensation strategies, including analytics and divisional/departmental compensation planning.
Grading Systems: Be familiar with different types of grading systems and their application within the organization.
STI vs LTI Knowledge: Demonstrate knowledge of Short-Term Incentives (STI) versus Long-Term Incentives (LTI) and their impact on employee motivation and retention.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 5years of experience in compensation and benefits administration.
Extensive knowledge of South African labor laws and regulations.
Experience with BEE and transformation initiatives.
Proficiency in using Workday for compensation and benefits management.
Strong analytical skills and experience in preparing and presenting compensation analytics.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to lead and manage Remco meetings effectively.
Experience in supporting executive-level decision-making.
Familiarity with various grading systems and compensation structures.
Knowledge of STI vs LTI and their application in compensation planning.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in African markets.
Advanced degree or certification in Human Resources or Compensation and Benefits.
