Purpose of Position

Responsible for overseeing the Care Centre team and daily operations, ensuring operational goals are met and high-quality standards are maintained. Reports to the Area Phlebotomy Manager.

Requirements
  • Relevant HPCSA/SANC registration (Required)
  • Relevant Phlebotomy or Nursing qualification (Required)
  • Valid South African drivers licence (Code EB) (Required)
Required Experience
  • 3+ years’ experience as a Phlebotomist or similar role in a Pathology environment
  • Advanced understanding of phlebotomy procedures
  • Basic knowledge of MS Outlook, Windows, Excel
  • Knowledge of OSH act
Key Responsibilities
  • Support People Management strategies and implement business processes, policies, and procedures
  • Conduct investigations and act as complainant in disciplinary matters
  • Create a positive team culture to meet operational and quality standards
  • Ensure team executes Workday tasks as required
  • Identify and communicate improvement opportunities and training needs
  • Manage employee performance, quality control, and budget
  • Monitor operational performance and report monthly
  • Organise workflow, rosters, leave, and delegate tasks
  • Perform technical and operational tasks, including routine phlebotomy
  • Communicate goals and standards to the team
  • Resolve on-site problems and escalate as needed
  • Handle recruitment and onboarding processes
  • Maintain knowledge of current people practices and ensure their implementation
