Lecturer: Digital- and Leadership Acumen for Accountants

The School of Accountancy is involved in educating professional accountants for bodies such as:

• South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA);
• Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA);
• Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).

An exciting teaching and research opportunity exists for specialists in Digital- and Leadership Acumen for Accountants and Business Ethics.

Duties:

• Facilitating learning, teaching, and assessment activities in undergraduate modules in Digital- and Leadership Acumen and/or Business Ethics.
• Developing and implementing online learning activities and assessments, including simulations.
• Supervising postgraduate students in accountancy and related fields.
• Engaging in research and publishing in reputable academic journals.
• Participating in community/social impact initiatives, such as SAICA’s Thuthuka project.
• Contributing to academic administration and service.

Requirements:

• Honours degree or postgraduate diploma (NQF 8) relevant to digital acumen.
• Academic excellence or proven research experience (master’s degree or PhD, or publications in DHET-approved journals).
• Strong MS Excel skills, including PivotTables, Macros, and VBA.
• Ability to work in a multilingual environment and team.
• Commitment to research and social impact.
• Ability to handle departmental administration.
• Teamwork skills.
