Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the complete finance function for the KZN region, covering Debtors, Creditors, Cashbook, and General Ledger.
- Prepare and analyse monthly management accounts, flash results, and variance reports.
- Manage full month‑end and year‑end close processes.
- Provide commentary and insight into regional Income Statements and Balance Sheets.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements (VAT, Income Tax, PAYE, etc.).
- Lead and facilitate internal audits, ensuring adherence to internal controls and policies.
- Prepare year‑end audit packs and liaise with auditors.
- Drive the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts and rolling projections for the region.
- Oversee payroll preparation and review for KZN.
- Authorise and release payments for the region.
- Conduct monthly stock reconciliations, investigate variances, and support stock management.
- Perform monthly Debtors reviews, monitor collections, and reduce risk.
- Hold monthly financial and operational reviews with branch and regional leadership.
- Provide training, guidance and support to branch administration and finance staff.
- Travel across multiple branches within KZN to conduct reviews, audits and operational support.
- Prepare ad hoc financial reports and assist with strategic initiatives as required.
Qualifications and Skills
- CA(SA) or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
- Minimum 5 years of financial management experience, preferably within a regional or multi‑branch environment.
- Strong exposure to audit, compliance, operational finance and reporting.
- Advanced MS Excel and strong ERP system knowledge.
- Strong analytical capability with excellent attention to detail.
- Confident communicator with the ability to engage and challenge stakeholders.
- Able to travel extensively within the KZN region.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines.
