About the role
Dyson is seeking a Commercial Manager to join our team in Singapore. The responsibilities include:
Business Case Development and Oversight
- Develop and oversee business cases throughout the product lifecycle in collaboration with key teams.
- Monitor deviations from the business case or brief, such as SSP, DDU, launch dates, specifications, or claims.
NPD Launch Readiness
- Ensure launch readiness for new product development by preparing the organization at each stage.
- Hold regular stakeholder meetings to ensure alignment and operational readiness.
Feedback Integration and Communication Strategy
- Incorporate market feedback to develop omnichannel briefs for Commercial and Creative teams.
- Define product communication strategies, influencer approaches, and launch plans.
- Set priorities for Brand Building Investment (BBI) and provide promotional guidance aligned with the launch calendar.
Brand and Marketing Frameworks
- Establish vision statements, naming conventions, value propositions, audience targeting, and marketing frameworks for each product.
- Define clear positioning, messaging, and execution guidelines for markets.
- Propose and oversee impactful marketing campaigns.
Creative Collaboration
- Participate in Creative Review sessions to provide feedback and ensure alignment with product and marketing strategies.
- Work with Creative teams to optimize campaign effectiveness using performance insights and consumer feedback.
Claims and Marketing Phrases
- Manage a “War Room” to monitor competitor claims and analyze Dyson’s positioning.
- Develop strategies to craft compelling claims that outperform competitors and appeal to consumers.
- Ensure claims are competitive, compelling, and aligned with marketing objectives.
Collaboration with Marketing and Markets
- Engage with Marketing and local Market teams for insights and reports to inform strategies.
- Facilitate participation of Market leaders in Creative Reviews via Teams to incorporate feedback.
About you
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- Strong understanding of business operations within manufacturing or engineering environments.
- Experience working within a business unit, with exposure to processes, project execution, and performance measurement.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in analyzing large, complex data sets to support strategic decisions.
- Experience in strategic analytical roles.
- Strong planning and project management skills.
- Good business acumen, with the ability to analyze data and identify anomalies.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, capable of building commitment and networks.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a drive for results.
- Financial and commercial savvy with sound judgment.
- Comfortable navigating complexity, ambiguity, and change, with the ability to influence in a matrix structure and adapt quickly to market trends.
