Our client is a leading venture capital firm with a focused investment thesis in a specific domain. With a successful track record of identifying and scaling high-growth startups across Southeast Asia and beyond, the firm is known for its deep domain expertise, founder-first approach, and strong investor network.

As they continue to scale, they are seeking a highly experienced Investment Lead to anchor deal flow, lead transactions, and drive portfolio value creation within the specialised domain.

Key Responsibilities:

Deal Sourcing & Origination

• Identify and evaluate early- to growth-stage startups aligned with the firm’s investment thesis.
• Cultivate relationships with founders, co-investors, accelerators, and ecosystem partners.

End-to-End Deal Execution

• Lead due diligence, build robust investment cases, and manage term sheet and legal negotiations.
• Present and defend recommendations to the Investment Committee.

Portfolio Management

• Serve as a strategic partner to founders, supporting their fundraising, talent strategy, and go-to-market execution.
• Track portfolio performance and surface opportunities for follow-on investment or exits.

Thought Leadership

• Represent the firm at industry events, contribute to content on emerging trends in the domain.
• Mentor junior investment professionals and contribute to internal knowledge-building.

Requirements:

• 7+ years of direct investment experience in venture capital, growth equity, corporate venture, or a family office setting with a focus on early- to mid-stage technology investments.
• Proven track record of leading deals from origination to close, particularly in the early stage investment space.
• Strong financial modeling, commercial due diligence, and strategic thinking capabilities.
• Deep network within the startup and investment ecosystem.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – capable of engaging founders and partners with credibility.
• Passion for innovation, curiosity about emerging technologies, and conviction in long-term investing.
