Business Development Manager (FMCG)

Location: Damasara Perdana, Selangor

About the Role

Were looking for a Business Development Manager (BDM) whos hungry for growth and passionate about creating impact in new markets. Youll work hand-in-hand with the Sales Team to unlock opportunities, expand distribution networks, and drive revenue through Sell-In, Sell-Through, and Sell-Out strategies.

This role is all about taking markets from zero to dominance identifying where we can win, building strong partnerships, and ensuring every launch, campaign, and activation drives real commercial results.

What Youll Do
1. Market Development & Execution
  • Develop and implement market entry and expansion strategies to establish strong presence across Tier-2 and Tier-3 markets.

  • Conduct in-depth market analysis to identify opportunities, trends, and potential growth barriers.

  • Work with the Sales Team to translate market insights into sell-in and channel activation strategies.

  • Support pricing, positioning, and go-to-market (GTM) planning to ensure competitiveness and profitability.

2. Drive Sell-In, Sell-Through, and Sell-Out
  • Sell-In: Support the Sales Team in onboarding and closing distributors, wholesalers, and retailers with the right margin structure and commercial terms.

  • Sell-Through: Develop programs, campaigns, and joint business plans with partners to ensure products move effectively through the channel.

  • Sell-Out: Work with Marketing and Retail teams to create in-store activation, visibility, and consumer engagement strategies that convert demand into sales.

  • Continuously monitor sell-in to sell-out ratios and recommend actions to maintain a healthy pipeline.

3. Partnership & Channel Expansion
  • Identify, engage, and manage distributors, retailers, and key accounts in target markets.

  • Negotiate strategic agreements that align with both short-term sales goals and long-term brand growth.

  • Build sustainable partnerships through consistent communication, performance tracking, and joint reviews.

  • Collaborate with partners to co-develop growth plans that drive visibility, market coverage, and profitability.

4. Business & Financial Analysis
  • Build financial models to support commercial decisions, including ROI, margin analysis, and pricing simulation.

  • Provide data-backed recommendations to optimize investments, promotional spend, and market entry costs.

  • Track market performance metrics and ensure financial goals are aligned with sales execution.

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Act as the strategic bridge between Sales, Supply Chain, Product Development, Campaigns, and Commercial teams.

  • Ensure readiness across functions before any market activation from stock availability to campaign rollout.

  • Work with Legal to ensure compliance, regulatory approvals, and secure contractual agreements with partners.

6. Performance Monitoring & Insights
  • Track sales, distribution coverage, and profitability performance across assigned markets.

  • Generate actionable insights on market performance, competitor activities, and consumer behavior.

  • Provide regular performance reviews and recommendations for optimization.

What Youll Bring
  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.

  • 5-8 years of experience in Business Development, Sales, or Commercial Strategy (preferably FMCG, vape, or consumer products).

  • Proven track record in driving Sell-In, Sell-Through, and Sell-Out success.

  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills with commercial acumen.

  • Excellent relationship-building and communication abilities across cross-functional teams.

  • Results-driven mindset with the ability to execute in fast-paced environments.
