Overview
Responsibilities
  • Performs manual assembly, operation of automated assembly equipment, hand soldering, operation of automated test equipment, and inspection and repair of products.
  • Performs machine and line setups, feeder repairs and first line preventative maintenance.
  • Must possess specific certifications as defined by site operations.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of board assembly process and product process flow.
  • In-depth knowledge of product quality, soldering specifications and SMT processing systems.
  • Set up, operate, calibrate and maintain assembly and hand soldering equipment and tools.
  • Recognize problems in the assembly process or with assembly components and address those problems.
  • Communicate effectively with a wide variety of internal and external customers.
  • Work effectively with team members and lead the team to high quality production within tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of in-circuit and functional test fixturing.
  • Knowledge of computer applications including Word, Lotus Notes, Excel and Documentation control systems.
  • More advanced manufacturing systems knowledge.
Physical Demands
  • Duties of this position are performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to elements such as noise, dust, chemicals, operating machinery, and temperature extremes.
  • Requires periodic light physical effort and exertion including prolonged repetitive motions, manual dexterity, and coordinated hand/eye work, and may involve sitting or standing in confined workspaces, using tools and equipment, and moving and handling materials.
  • May require periodic heavy manual effort including lifting objects.
  • Requires extended periods of sustained visual concentration on detailed documentation and product assemblies.
  • Compliance with local Health and Safety guidelines.
Typical Experience
  • Four to five years of relevant experience.
Typical Education
  • High school diploma and additional courses after high school, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; commitment towards further education.
