Job summary

A safety-focused company in Johor is seeking a Safety Officer (SHO) to enhance workplace safety and compliance. You will develop management policies, identify risks, and lead safety committees. The ideal candidate has a diploma or degree in Occupational Safety & Health, is registered with DOSH, and has at least 2 years of relevant experience. Qualifications

Join Our Growing Team as a Safety Officer (SHO)!

What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Develop, establish, and review the workplace safety management policies and standards for all operating sites to ensure compliance with relevant statutory requirements.

  • Identify potential safety risks; track safety & health performance indicators and trends; ensure compliance with OSHA.

  • Establish liaison with clients to maintain overall policies and procedures and ensure the safety of operating all machines and equipment in the plant.

  • Conduct and lead safety and health committee meetings regularly to keep management and employees aware of hazards.

  • Advise the employer, EHS Committee Chairperson or any person in charge of the workplace on measures to be taken in the interest of safety.

  • Investigate any accident, near–miss accident, dangerous occurrence, occupational poisoning, or occupational disease.

  • Assist the company in COVID‑19 management including workplace and hostel inspection, policy development, and support on assigned tasks.

  • Control, monitor, enforce, implement & improve Safety, Health & Environmental matters with respect to departmental Occupational Safety & Health Malaysia requirements.

  • Inspect the workplace to determine if machinery, plant, equipment, substances, appliances, and processes are safe for the work environment.

  • Participate in the review of site facility layouts, designs, modifications regarding life safety requirements, applicable codes, regulations, and Equipment/Tool EHS requirements.

  • Develop, plan, and implement site environmental, health and safety procedures/programs to align with corporate EHS policies, goals, objectives, and customer requirements.

  • Update any new regulation announced by ministries or authorities relating to safety and health that comply with the company’s safety and health management system.

  • Submit accurate regulatory and performance metric reports as required including but not limited to JKKP6, JKKP8, CIMS.

  • Perform any ad‑hoc assignments and other related tasks assigned by management or immediate superior.

What We’re Looking For:
  • At least a Diploma or Degree in Occupational Safety & Health; certificate as Safety and Health Officer organized by NIOSH or other institution recognized by DOSH.

  • Registered with DOSH as Safety Officer (valid SHO registration).

  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in safety and health matters.
