Job summary
A leading food and beverage company in Johor Bahru is seeking a Production Manager to oversee daily operations and ensure product quality. Key responsibilities include managing production schedules, leading a team of workers, and maintaining compliance with food safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Food Technology or a related field, along with significant experience in the industry. Strong leadership and analytical skills are essential for this role, which also involves improving operational efficiency and documentation.
Qualifications
- 2 to 5 years of experience in Food or Drink production or manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards like HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

- Overseeing daily production activities and ensuring smooth operations.
- Conducting regular inspections and quality checks during production.
- Leading and managing a team of production workers.

- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Food Technology, Food Science, or a related field.
- Proven work experience in Food / Drink production or manufacturing or a similar role. (2 to 5 years’ work experience preferred).

- Production Management:
- Oversee daily production activities and ensure smooth operations on the shop floor.
- Monitor production schedules and ensure timely delivery of products.
- Plan and allocate resources (manpower, machinery, and materials) to meet production targets.
- Quality Control:
- Ensure all products meet the company’s quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular inspections and quality checks during production processes.
- Implement and maintain food safety standards, such as HACCP, GMP, or ISO 22000.
- Team Supervision:
- Lead and manage a team of production workers, ensuring proper training and performance management.
- Provide guidance and resolve operational issues on the production floor.
- Foster a safe and positive work environment, encouraging teamwork and productivity.
- Operational Efficiency:
- Identify opportunities for process improvement to increase productivity and reduce waste.
- Monitor production metrics and report performance to senior management.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to minimize equipment downtime.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with local, national, and international food safety regulations.
- Conduct regular audits of equipment and processes to maintain safety standards.
- Train staff on food hygiene, health, and safety protocols.
- Inventory and Supply Chain Coordination:
- Work closely with procurement and inventory teams to maintain adequate stock levels.
- Manage raw material usage to prevent shortages or overstocking.
- Monitor and minimize wastage during production processes.
- Reporting and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate production records, including output, downtime, and quality reports.
- Prepare and present reports on production performance and improvement plans.
