Job Title: Senior Associate, Development Engineering Packaging ( RD&E )

Location: Kota Damansara
Department: Research & Development

As the Senior Associate, Development Engineering Packaging, you will primarily contribute to the technical development of new and/or existing packaging in support of global and regional brands. This role will be a key member in the development and validation of new products, line extensions, and search and re-apply projects by participating in global cross functional teams. You will also support technology advancements which result in consumer preferred benefits and new opportunities to win at the shelf.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Apply new and existing packaging technologies towards the development of innovative products and the enhancement of existing products that consumers find appealing, and easy to use, allowing SC Johnson to win online and at the store shelf

• Complete performance and compatibility testing in support of packaging component changes

• Collaborate with multifunctional core teams (R&D, Design, Finance, Marketing, Consumer Research, and Supply Chain) to successfully contribute to the development and launch of new products in an accelerated manner

• Generate robust packaging component specifications, finished good product specifications, and bills of materials as part of the technical validation process

• Provide technical knowledge and problem-solving skills to evaluate and correct package-related issues to maintain production schedules and product quality as needed

• Utilize knowledge to contribute to the successful commercialization of new ideas driving consumer and corporate value

• Provide packaging development project tasks and related timing to the Global Project Manager to help create and manage effective and efficient project timelines and related success criteria to realize completion dates and project execution

• Continue to gain technical knowledge areas to grow breadth and depth of packaging development skills

• Lead and perform tests for both primary and secondary package components

• Issue packaging component specifications, & other packaging related documentation such as pallet patterns

Required Skills / Experience / Competencies:

• Bachelor’s in packaging engineering, packaging science, or other relevant engineering disciplines

• Minimum 3 to 5 years of packaging development experience

• Understanding and experience in primary, secondary, & tertiary packaging development & qualification (product compatibility, shelf-stability, & distribution testing)
