Job summary
A leading technology firm in Penang is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to develop innovative designs for semiconductor automation equipment. The ideal candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 5-10 years of experience in equipment design. Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and SolidWorks is required. This role emphasizes teamwork, communication, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- 5–10 years’ experience in equipment design, preferably in semiconductor or high-tech sector.
- Demonstrated experience with CNC and sheet metal fabrication.
- Highly self-motivated, diligent, responsible, and committed to achieving results.
Responsibilities
- Develop innovative concepts and detailed designs for semiconductor automation equipment.
- Ensure all designs comply with international standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to interpret requirements.
- Prepare and release comprehensive BOMs, technical drawings, and documentation.
- Champion continuous improvement and implement process enhancements.

Develop innovative concepts and detailed designs for semiconductor automation equipment.
Ensure all designs comply with international standards (e.g., SEMI S2, S8, CE).
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to interpret requirements and optimize manufacturability and cost.
Prepare and release comprehensive BOMs, technical drawings, and documentation.
Integrate CNC machining and sheet metal fabrication processes into design for manufacturing.
Champion continuous improvement and proactively implement process enhancements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Aeronautical, or Manufacturing Engineering.
- 5–10 years’ experience in equipment design, preferably within the semiconductor or high-tech sector.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software (Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks) and engineering analysis tools (FEA, FMEA).
- Demonstrated experience with CNC and sheet metal fabrication.
- Exceptional communication and teamwork skills; fluency in English.
- Highly self‑motivated, diligent, responsible, and committed to achieving results; willing to go the extra mile.
