About the RoleSwift provides a range of on-site business and technical/supporting infrastructure consultancy services across Swift’s customer base. The Project Manager will work in close liaison with all relevant departments within and across regions to manage projects of various complexities. These consultancy engagements aim at helping our customers to improve their operational efficiency, reduce costs, and mitigate operational risk.
The Project Manager will report to the APAC Head of Project Management. This role will have the daily management of projects of various complexities, as well as engagement with the Business Development teams and the Professional Services teams primarily in APAC. This role will also engage with financial institutions and critical market infrastructures within the financial services community.
What to expect:
- Project Management
- Manage projects of various complexities and risk (medium to large size), ensuring effectiveness in meeting customer's needs, and deliver the project's expected outcomes.
- Assist the internal teams to prepare proposals either based on standardised proposals or customised for more complex offerings.
- Develop and maintain project plans, ensuring timely delivery within agreed functionality, quality, cost, and performance standards.
- Monitor, maintain and report to project team, customers, internal stakeholders on the project status on a continuous basis and for the duration of the project.
- Manage project risks (security, resources, budget, quality) and escalate issues to senior management when appropriate.
- Work with partners and third parties to deliver a project in a prime contractor or subcontractor role (where work is subcontracted to a third party).
- Pro-actively control actual status of cost, schedule, quality, and resources versus plans and take corrective action if necessary.
- Consulting Services Delivery
- Deliver and implement technical and/or business solutions and provide product-related consulting to our customers.
- Deliver technical and/or business and operational training on Swift’s products and solutions to our customers.
- Assist the customer in their technical and/or business readiness or solution onboardings, solving potential issues they face during projects when those fall within one’s area of expertise and within the scope of the project.
- Provide pre-sales and proposal scoping review support for customer opportunities from a services perspective.
- Continuous Improvement
- Foster and participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives by engaging with internal/external stakeholders to enhance customer experience.
- Update knowledge management databases and document problem management procedures for both existing and new products/services as required.
- Analyze existing project methodologies to identify inefficiencies and contribute to process improvement.
- Design and implement process improvements to optimize project delivery and increase team productivity.
What will make you successful:
- Professional background/education: Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science or IT related fields, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in the financial services industry, preferably in banking and payments businesses.
- Language: Fluent in English and Japanese is a must; any other Asian languages is a plus.
- Knowledge of SwiftNet, Swift's interface products, and Swift's messaging solutions.
- Proven ability to collaborate and contribute in a diverse, multi-cultural, multi-country team environment and the ability to work independently.
- High attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Technical skillsets on operating systems, servers, and networking.
- Occasional weekends and after business hours work can be expected on a need-to basis to support customer go-live activities.
- Following additional skills are an asset: Knowledge of Windows Server, AIX or Linux; Good knowledge of TCP/IP networking technologies including routers, VPN, firewalls, etc.; Knowledge of Perl, Java, XML, Bash, JIRA; Experience with integration middleware and common messaging technologies; Knowledge in modern integration techniques and technologies, especially Service Oriented Architectures, application server and Web services.
- Domain knowledge and interest in business areas such as payments, or securities is a plus.
