Maintenance Fitter
Job summary
A leading industrial operation in South Africa is seeking a Maintenance Fitter to perform critical maintenance and ensure optimal equipment performance. The ideal candidate has a minimum of five years of experience in manufacturing plant maintenance and holds a Trade Test in Fitting. You will enjoy a collaborative environment with opportunities for continuous learning and the use of modern equipment.

- Nightshift (17h30 03h00) + Standby + Flexible
- Dayshift: 8h00-17h30
Are you a skilled Fitter who thrives on solving problems, ensuring uptime, and driving operational excellence?
Seeking a hands‑on professional who will keep our plant running at peak performance. You'll play a key role in maintaining equipment, preventing breakdowns, and ensuring we deliver on our production goals.

- Perform planned and breakdown maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment
- Repair, install, fit, and align machinery and structural components
- Conduct regular inspections and maintain equipment to the highest standards
- Read and interpret engineering and technical drawings
- Apply safe welding practices (MIG, TIG, Arc advantageous)
- Assist with general maintenance and collaborate with your team
- Work independently to solve technical problems under pressure
- Always prioritize safety first in everything you do
- Trade Test: Fitter with N3 Mechanical Engineering or Matric
- At least 5 years of experience in plant maintenance within manufacturing
- Electrical and PLC knowledge (advantageous)
- Strong understanding of maintenance systems and technical drawings
- Excellent problem‑solving, planning, and coordination skills
- Physically fit and comfortable with working at heights and in confined spaces
- Flexible with shift work, weekends, public holidays, and standby
- Own reliable transport & a valid driver's license
