Job summary
A prominent recruitment agency is seeking an experienced project manager to oversee multi-disciplinary petrochemical projects in Durban, South Africa. The ideal candidate must have over 10 years of engineering experience, a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, and significant project management expertise. Responsibilities include project planning, contractor management, and ensuring compliance with specifications and budgets.

- 5 years in a project management role.
Responsibilities
- Planning and design of multi-disciplinary petrochemical projects.
- Ensuring projects are completed within time and cost limits.
- Managing local & international contractors and suppliers.
Skills
Education
Planning, design, construction, and commissioning of multi-disciplinary petrochemical projects from inception to completion.
- Ensures projects are completed within the time and cost limit as well as to the agreed specifications.
- Compiling P&IDs, HAZOP / MOC studies, budgets & schedules for capital expenditure projects.
- Managing design, draughting and in-house fabrication of piping, pressure equipment, structures, heat exchangers, distillation columns & vessels.
- Management of local & international contractors and suppliers.
- Drafting of RFQs, BOQ, review of variation orders, contract adjudications & contract administration (NEC, JBCC).
Essential: South African citizen
Qualifications:
- B.Sc. Mechanical Engineering.
- Project Management Diploma Experience.
Essential Experience: Over 10 years of engineering experience, in the petroleum/oil/gas or liquid bulk tank industry, of which 5 years was in a project management role.
Preferable: OHS Act, ASME B31 (Piping). SANS 347, SANS 10089-1 & ASME VIII standards.
