Job summary
A professional services business based in Stellenbosch is seeking a Temporary Financial Accounting Support professional to assist with day-to-day accounting and reporting activities. The position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong Excel skills and a proactive approach. Immediate availability is essential as the role involves supporting month-end processes, managing reconciliations, and ensuring the integrity of financial data during a busy operational period.

Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day support to the Finance Manager and finance team.
- Assist with month-end close processes, including reconciliations and reporting support.
- Prepare, update, and maintain Excel-based schedules, trackers, and financial models.

Our client is a well-established professional services business operating within the financial and wealth environment. The organisation is known for its structured finance function, strong governance, and high standards of financial accuracy and reporting. They are seeking temporary finance support during a busy reporting and operational period.
We are recruiting a Temporary Financial Accounting Support professional to assist the Finance Manager and the finance team with day-to-day accounting and reporting activities.
This role is best suited to a hands-on finance professional who is highly proficient in Excel, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently within a team environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting month-end processes, reconciliations, and financial data preparation.
This is a time-sensitive, fixed-term opportunity requiring someone who can add value immediately.
- Provide day-to-day support to the Finance Manager and the finance team
- Assist with month-end close processes, including reconciliations and reporting support
- Prepare, update, and maintain Excel-based schedules, trackers, and financial models
- Perform account reconciliations and investigate variances
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial information
- Support ad hoc finance and reporting requirements as needed
- Maintain strong attention to detail and data integrity at all times
- Accounting background (SAIPA or similar qualification advantageous)
- Proven experience working within a finance or accounting team
- Advanced Excel skills (non-negotiable)
- Strong numerical and analytical ability
- Ability to work independently and manage deadlines
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Immediately available or available at short notice
- Comfortable working onsite in Stellenbosch (hybrid flexibility possible)
- Proactive, reliable, and professional
- Able to adapt quickly in a temporary / contract environment
