Key Responsibilities
- Stock Management:
- Secure tyre stock at all times.
- Investigate and report stock discrepancies daily.
- Participate in monthly cycle counts.
- Tyre Surveys:
- Drive to designated sites as required.
- Conduct vehicle tyre surveys using Intersect Tyre Management Software or manual documentation when offline.
- Record tyre brand numbers, wheel positions, tyre pressure, and tread depth.
- Ensure monthly checks and corrections for all vehicle tyres and spare wheels.
- Report missing spare wheels and ensure proper identification (e.g., spray rims with red paint).
- Fit and replace wheel nut indicators where necessary.
- Branding And Tyre Replacement:
- Brand tyres as per the supervisor's instructions.
- Identify and replace smooth, punctured, or damaged tyres following SOPs.
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of tyre change slips.
- Tyre Rotation And Breakdowns:
- Rotate tyres per matching tread depth guidelines.
- Load correct tyre sizes for breakdowns and attend promptly to breakdown sites.
- Adhere to South African driving regulations during breakdown assistance.
- Return damaged or punctured tyres to the depot with proper documentation.
- Equipment And Asset Management:
- Secure tablets and vehicle keys when not in use.
- Conduct and submit daily vehicle checklists.
- Maintain cleanliness in the workspace and vehicles.
- Use appropriate PPE and adhere to safety regulations at all times.
- Report safety issues or near misses to the supervisor promptly.
- General Duties:
- Comply with company policies, including SOPs, attendance, and dress code.
- Assist with any additional company requirements, including weekend shifts as necessary.
Minimum Requirements
- Education: Matric (Grade 12).
- License: Code B Driver's License.
- Experience: 1–2 years of experience in heavy-duty tyre maintenance.
- Physical Ability: Must be capable of lifting heavy objects.
