Job summary
A recruitment agency seeks a senior audit professional in Johannesburg, South Africa. The candidate will be tasked with directing the audit function, preparing budgets, and ensuring compliance with governance processes. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree, a relevant post-graduate qualification, and certification as a CIA or CA (SA) with significant experience in auditing. This role offers a dynamic environment with strategic responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Ten years of full-time experience in auditing and accounting.
- Six years of senior management experience is preferred.
- Experience with reporting to Exco and/or Board Sub-Committees is ideal.
Responsibilities
- Direct and develop the strategic plan for the audit function.
- Prepare and monitor the internal audit and forensic services budget.
- Develop and maintain governance process in internal audit.
- Communicate results of audit and advisory projects to management and audit committee.
Education
Bachelor's degree
Relevant post graduate qualification
Certification either as a CIA or CA (SA)
Ten years of full-time experience in auditing and accounting including six of senior management experience.
Experience with reporting to Exco and / or Board Sub-Committees (ideal)
Directs and develops the strategic plan for the audit function.
Contributes to the Companys strategic plan.
Prepare and monitor the internal audit and forensic services budget.
Monitor budget on projects.
Develops and maintains governance process in internal audit. Work involves :
Development of audit charter and / or policies, and procedures / methodologies.
Communicates the results of audit and advisory projects via written reports and oral presentations to management and audit committee (the board of directors where necessary).
Determine the optimal structure of the function, including considerations of co-sourcing
