Sales Executive : Diving and Life Support | BD – Africa, UK
Unique Hydra (Pty) Ltd, a division of the Unique Group, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Sales Executive to lead our commercial strategy across Africa and globally. This is not a support role— it is the engine of revenue generation and strategic expansion for our Diving and Life Support division.
You will be at the forefront of global sales, market intelligence, innovation, and talent development.
Key Responsibilities
- Grow business with existing customers and develop new accounts with a strong focus on Africa, but including Europe, Americas and Middle East.
- Coordinate with other regions in putting commercial bids together where the project or end customer is in Africa, but the Unique client is based elsewhere.
- Lead the strategic growth of Unique’s diving division globally by coordinating equipment sales activities in different regions, providing pricing guidance, developing marketing campaigns, participating in trade shows, writing white papers, performing competitive analysis, proposing cost reduction or innovation ideas related to diving equipment, and ensuring an accurate cost basis in bid preparation.
- Lead sales generation for Diving and Life Support, Service, Rental and Projects offering.
- Develop a client base by researching and contacting potential clients.
- Develop market knowledge through client calls and consolidate feedback from the team to present market intelligence to management.
- Research and drive development of alternative commercially viable market niches/offering that are aligned to Unique Group competencies.
- In conjunction with the Proposals team, review and approve technical proposals, commercial proposals, costing commercial proposals, and review and approve delivery commitments to the customer.
- Determine the client service requirements with respect to product and provide guidance on services required now and in the future.
- Staff management, setting monthly targets and conducting performance reviews.
- Ensure organizational focus on Employment Equity and Diversity issues.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree (MBA preferred) or 10+ years of relevant industry-specific experience in a similar role.
- Experience: 8+ years in national/international sales or marketing with a strong track record in business development and revenue growth.
- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of marine, subsea, and diving markets.
- Skills: Strategic pricing, ERP/CRM systems, public speaking, proposal writing, competitive analysis.
- Citizenship: Must be RSA citizen.
- Languages: English and Afrikaans required; Portuguese or French advantageous.
- Leadership: Decisive and adaptable leadership.
- Other: Initiative and perseverance under pressure, strong interpersonal and organizational skills, commitment to service excellence and diversity.
