POSITION: Operations Supervisor (Fruit Industry)

LOCATION: Atlantic, Cape Town

The supervisor will oversee daily operations within the cold storage facility, ensuring efficient handling, storage and dispatch of fruit exports. This role is critical to maintaining safety standards and operational efficiency. The supervisor will manage a team of staff, ensuring adherence to company policies and industry regulations.

• Manage all operational activities to ensure that all loading, unloading and storing of fruit pallets are in accordance with procedures and operational requirements.
• Ensure that all inspections operations are done in a safe and efficient manner.
• Ensure effective utilization of staff to maintain high level of productivity and meeting daily targets.
• Ensure that the integrity of the cold chain remain intact.
• Ensure effective inventory management
• Manage, train and motivate staff
• Distribute work in a well-balanced manner
• Conduct regular team meetings and safety briefings.
• Compile attendance register and report on staffing levels to operations coordinator
• Ensure compliance with the health, safety and hygiene regulations.
• Conduct regular inspections to maintain high standards of housekeeping, inventory accuracy and product quality during handling of pallets.
• Liaise with teams to address and resolve any issues.
• Identity and implement process improvements for increased efficiency.
• Collaborate with the operations coordinator to develop and enforce operational procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of daily activities, inventory levels, deviations and incidents.
• Prepare and submit regular reports to the operations coordinator.
