The Vice President Research Office oversees research at NTU, with a commitment to research excellence and positive societal impact. The office devises and implements NTU’s research strategy whilst addressing Singapore’s national priorities. We also develop research-related policies and coordinate research-related operations at the university level.
We are looking for individuals who are driven, tenacious, and resourceful.
You will play a pivotal role in supporting the administrative operations of the VPRO Office. You will work with academics, researchers, and a broad spectrum of NTU’s corporate functions. The role provides a unique opportunity for you to contribute significantly to NTU’s research initiatives while expanding your own skillsets and grow holistically.
Responsibilities:
Develop and update policies, processes, and standard operating procedures for research-related functions
Support governance of research centres by collating and analysing reports, ensuring adherence to established guidelines
Facilitate university-level research agreements through effective liaison and negotiation with external collaborators, NTU Schools, Centres, Principal Investigators, legal office, and NTUitive (NTU’s technology transfer unit)
Plan and coordinate events, such as workshops, seminars, and visits. This includes working with internal and external stakeholders
Provide secretariat and staffing support for meetings, including minutes recording. Assist in preparation of meeting agenda and presentation materials
Assist in data gathering to understand the interest and needs of key stakeholders including external agencies and internal Schools/Centres/Labs
Assist in designing and managing publicity materials, such as brochures
Any other general administrative duties and ad-hoc projects as assigned
Requirements:
Bachelor degree, preferably with 3 to 5-years relevant work experience in research management/administration
Familiarity with the research environment is preferred, demonstrating your understanding of the intricacies of the field
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders
Experience in working with professors, government agencies and international organizations will be advantageous
Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Excel, Powerpoint, Word, etc)
Effective oral and written communication skills, and the ability to interact effectively with people of all levels
Demonstrated resourcefulness, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to multitask efficiently, even under tight deadlines
Attention to details, self-initiated, well-organised, and the ability to work independently or in a team
